Born in Karimangalam, Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, and raised in Bengaluru, Vinod Ramaswamy developed an independent outlook at an early age. Technology and entrepreneurship became the subjects through which he chose to build his future.
He completed his early education at Janaseva Vidyakendra Boys Residential School in Bengaluru and later attended Jain College. He ultimately stepped away from the conventional academic route to focus fully on entrepreneurship—turning customers, finances, partnerships, difficult decisions and real outcomes into his business education.
Vinod began with a web-development venture that gave him practical experience in digital innovation and business strategy. Those early lessons helped shape the wider Vinking Group and its evolution into a diversified enterprise spanning retail, technology, finance, infrastructure and agriculture.
His leadership style remains operational: stay close to the work, listen carefully and accept responsibility for the outcome. He views adversity as direction—an opportunity to sharpen priorities, rebuild with discipline and create businesses designed to endure.
